Rolls-Royce and BMW were prominently present at this year’s Villa d’Este. Not strange, because the BMW Group, so also Rolls-Royce, is a sponsor of the event. Rolls-Royce came to Italy with two models, they're both not just ‘ordinary’ Rollses.
First, they came up with the brand new Wraith. The long coupé based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which fits perfectly in the row of other participants of Villa d’Este with its bespoke lines. Still I’m not convinced yet, as I wrote earlier on. The other model showed on Villa d’Este is a special version, with a very long name.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Collection is the car with the longest name of the event, that’s a fact. The car is painted in lovely blue and is linked to a historic milestone of the company Rolls-Royce. It’s hundred years from now that a post-war Ghost took part in several races like the Alpine Trail. The car itself had the same blue colour as we see on this celebration model. The original had black wheels and so does this one. Remarkebly enough, the Rolls-Royce Ghost had the official title of best car in the world hundred years ago, sadly it doesn’t have it anymore nowadays.
