Although it was presented several years ago, the project has been quiet for a long time. Now the Italian sports car is appearing for the very first time, and at no less a place than Zurich in Switzerland, where we have not seen a completely new car for the first time. Read on to learn more about this extraordinary vehicle.

Years ago, concept studies were circulating around the world showing the S1 in various versions. Now the production-ready model is coming to light. While some suspected that an electric motor was under the hood of the S1, they are mistaken, because it is equipped with an American V8. And there are some good reasons for this. It has been clear for some time that Ares wanted to use a Corvette C8 as the basis, but they did not just use the base; they took the whole car and simply built the S1 on top of it. This makes things a bit easier for the engineers in Modena. The reasons why many manufacturers of such extraordinary cars or even replica builders opt for the Corvette engines are threefold. Firstly, many want a V8, which the Corvette offers. Secondly, it would be far too expensive to develop their own engine for such a small series. And thirdly, in the future, the V8 Corvette engines will ensure sufficient spare parts, which makes maintenance significantly cheaper for the customer.

Thus, Ares Design also chose this small V8 mid-engine. The Corvette 6.2-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine delivers 710 hp and a maximum torque of 715 Newton meters. The S1 is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 2.7 seconds. Of course, this is not hypercar technology, but it looks like one of the really extreme ones.
What is still unclear is whether the open version and the speedster version will also come to market, as announced about four years ago. That remains to be seen. What we do know is that this Austrian model (with Vienna license plates) was sighted for the first time ever. The spotter kjsupercars was the fastest and earned two stars with this spot.
